Claudie Nash of Atlanta Fire & Rescue won the 2017 Community & Education Award at the Silent Hero Awards. Claudie has served for more than 42 years in Public Safety – practically all of her life. She served with the Atlanta Police Department for 16 years and has served the last 26 with Atlanta Fire & Rescue.

As Special Projects Coordinator for Atlanta Fire & Rescue, Claudie wears several hats and is involved in every aspect of the community – sometimes within the city limits and sometimes not. She coordinates turkey giveaways to seniors, back to school drives for children and also makes sure that the fire department is involved with the public safety softball and football tournaments. She provides gifts for underprivileged children at Christmas. She has handed out and helped install thousands of smoke alarms. She leads the Save a Life Blitz for the City of Atlanta – her passion is to help her own – and that includes everybody. She serves with joy, love and an unwavering commitment. Anything she is involved with becomes better. Once you meet her, you never forget her.
