About

The Ronnie Thames Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children and their families who have faced devastation and suffering as the result of a fire.
The Foundation was founded in 2013 by Ron and Teresa Thames in honor of Ron’s son Ronnie who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in 2004. Our mission is an endearing tribute to the memory of Ronnie Thames.

Ronnie was just 5 years old when he became the first employee of his Dad’s fire safety business. It was there in the family garage, handing tools to his Dad, that Ronnie began a life dedicated to fire protection.

As an adult, Ronnie became a business partner and soon dedicated his time and work to the fire safety industry. His love of children, his dedication to the prevention of pediatric burns, and his selfless spirit will forever be his legacy, as recognized through the good works of The Ronnie Thames Foundation.

The Ronnie Thames Foundation is committed to being an agent of assistance to firefighters and community organizations by providing educational programs focused on the prevention of fires through safety awareness.

Helping children and their families become knowledgeable about the importance of fire safety practices and burn prevention not only keeps our children safe but helps to protect and grow our communities. Our other benefactors include burn centers at Shriners Hospital for Children – Galveston, Shriners Hospital for Children – Cincinnati, and The Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Pediatric Burn Clinic.
